Eskimo Ice

About Eskimo Ice

Spending long hot summers in St. George Island, Florida, business partners James Bailey and Jason Cheek began to notice just how quickly their 7 pound bags of ice melted. On the boat fishing offshore, or just entertaining friends on the beach, there was never enough ice to keep their fish and beverages cold.

Then one day, Mr. Bailey noticed a museum in Apalachicola honoring John Gorrie, who in 1851 invented the refrigerated ice machine to treat malaria in the very same area where ice had now become an expensive ripoff. Mr. Bailey knew at once that a new ice machine needed to be invented, one that could deliver the goods to people in need; fishermen, boaters, sportsmen, construction workers, caterers, produce vendors, beer drinkers, and everyone in between. Like John Gorrie himself, Mr. Bailey and Mr. Cheek are now delivering a product to those in need, and at 20 lbs for $1.50 it's "Twice the Ice for Half the Price."
